Rachel

I love the sounds I can hear while sitting in our studio at Lowe Mill: drills, sewing machines, footsteps, and laughter. One distinct laugh I hear often is Rachel’s. If you know her, you know exactly what I mean. She is delightful always, and full of joy as she shares her art and her studio, the Green Pea Press.

When seeking models for our new Beauty Reveal sessions, an extended session complete with hair & makeup by Mary Beth Elliott, I thought of Rachel right away and was thrilled when she agreed. And so as our first “victim” she was so much fun – she even brought gloves and fun hair pieces!

Rachel is one of those people that you just feel like you’ve known for years. She is comfortable to be around and I so enjoyed photographing her – she had no trouble at all going from a romantic soft look to a big smile with sparkly eyes & dimples. And she was totally up for all the fun poses we wanted to try!

Thanks Rachel and Mary Beth for such a fun session! You are both gifted & beautiful women!! Let’s do it again!

A Celebration of Smiles

On April 21, 2012, Love It Out is proud to host  “Celebration of Smiles Day” a wonderful opportunity for you to update individual portraits of yourself or favorite someone (pets included) and at the same time support the work of Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

Along with other participating members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), we have pledged to donate 100% of each $24 donation made to PPA Charities, which has chosen Operation Smile as its charitable partner. The $24 donation represents one tenth of $240, the amount needed to help fund a single surgery. So if we can photograph ten smiles during the “Celebration of Smiles” event on April 21st, we will bless one child with a new smile!

For additional information on Operation Smile visit  http://www.operationsmile.org/

Email me (suzi@loveitout.com) for additional details and to schedule your mini-session appointment. It will be fun… and Tony has promised to make his wonderful fudge for those that have a session!

Overalls are twice as cute on twins!

I love my neighbors. We live in a cul-de-sac with the most wonderful neighbors, one of whom is Michelle. On this lovely spring day I drove up as she was walking with her youngest grandbabies. Oh my, the cuteness! Twins in overalls with their oh-so-happy grandma. Yes, too cute not to capture!!

Not sure what it is about Tony’s log alley in our backyard studio that brings out the expressions! Its just fun for everyone – Clara & Ella too!

Michelle delights in these two little ones, actually all four of her grandchildren have brought her a new joy, and it was such a sweet view from behind my lens. What a beautiful sight.

Love is the greatest gift that one generation can leave to another.

How to Get on a Hammock | Studio Favorite Moments

We have some stories that we seem to share over and over again – favorite moments. This is one of them…

An item we placed in our backyard studio that has brought much joy is our hammock! It’s great! From fun senior students to cuddly couples to whole families (I think 7 is the largest family photographed on it so far), it has made for some delightful shots. And much laughter!

And now we have a “get on one-at-a-time rule” after witnessing Marlene & Paul try it their way during their engagement session. Turns out that a hammock can take quite a swing when two try to get on at once! It caught us all by surprise and, after catching my breath, of course I started pushing the shutter. Their laughter was delightful and a testimony to the new joy and adventure their relationship brought them!

We took a few minutes to set the hammock back up and they got back on it one-at-a-time so we could capture a few more images. I just love this one.

Love to you both Marlene & Paul and warmest wishes for your marriage loving out each day one-at-a-time. And thanks for the great story we share with others!

Abby

I adore dance. The grace and strength of ballet are inspiring to watch and to photograph. So what a great time I had hanging out with such a talented ballet dancer like Abby!

We got together to capture images for promoting Huntsville Ballet’s upcoming Swan Lake performance and then we just played! Abby is a delight to be around and amazing to watch.

This last image brings to mind a Kutless song (I can’t stop singing it when I see it)…

You are my strong tower
Shelter over me
Beautiful and mighty
Everlasting King

You are my strong tower
Fortress when I’m weak
Your name is true and holy
And Your face is all I see

Thanks Abby for the inspiration! You are wished great success in all areas that bring you joy!

Go see Abby and all the wonderful dancers at Huntsville Ballet Company in an upcoming performance!  http://www.huntsvilleballetcompany.org/
