Awesome Aaron – Class of 2013

We were so blessed to spend time with awesome Aaron to capture his senior portraits.

We captured Aaron’s big sister Jessica’s senior portraits a few years ago. But this time we were able to spend time with the whole family! What a beautiful evening on Monte Sano Mountain and what a delightful family 🙂

Aaron’s interests include soccer and archery – I loved shooting the images with the bow & arrow. He has a natural knack with maintaining computers and will be a great computer engineer! Just a great guy! Tony & I look forward to staying in touch with this wonderful family to hear about the great things they do! Blessings!

Deep Roots “Harvest for Huntsville”

We recently had a great night joining the Deep Roots “Harvest for Huntsville”! How awesome that we have this organization here in our community helping families to grow their own food and learn healthy lifestyle choices!

Harvest for Huntsville was their first fund-raiser. There was great food from Chef Will, music from Atlanta Rhythm Section, great art and opportunities offered in a silent action, and lots of wonderful people! AM Booth’s Lumberyard was the perfect setting.

They are like trees planted along a riverbank with roots that reach deep into the water.  Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.  Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.  -Jeremiah 17:8

Women Honoring Women 2012

September brings the Women Honoring Women celebration — an inspiring evening with women of courage and wisdom and generosity.

This is an evening I look forward to each year. It is the signature event allowing the WEDC Foundation to achieve their mission: To work within our community to help women achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence by providing mentors, developmental opportunities, grants, and scholarships. I love being in a room full of women desiring the best for each other – encouraging one another and celebrating victories over individual challenges. This year the theme was “Continuing the Promise”.  The room was decorated with rainbow colors and participants were invited to wear bright attire!

This was my second year to photograph the Scholars and the Honorees. And because I have spent a little time with each of the Honorees in my backyard garden capturing their image and hearing a bit of their stories, the anticipation to see them receive an award and hear more of their testimonies is overwhelming.

The Co-Chairs for this year’s WHW, Beth Brooks and Marianne Windham, led us through the evening program. After a lovely dinner, Lee Marshall presented each of the Honorees.

After the Honoree presentations, the Scholars, accompanied by their Mentors, were invited to the stage. LaJoy Johns shared her appreciation as a Scholar and the impact the Foundation has had in her life.

The evening concluded with a special song. Accompanied by Darin Windham, Karen Young beautifully sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.

What a wonderful evening!

Happy 50th Anniversary to a couple with hearts of gold!

What a testimony to loving it out than to be around friends and family celebrating fifty years together! George and Glenda enjoyed a wedding anniversary celebration  at their family church given by their three children. As guests arrived they watched  a 35mm movie of the actual wedding day fifty years ago. This was followed by food and fellowship!

George & Glenda are so proud of all their beautiful children and grandchildren!!

Four generation poses for the girls!!

Two of George & Glenda’s daughters and their stomping buddies growing up… “four and no more” is all you need!

George & Glenda – YOU are an inspiration! Wishing for you many more years together with good health & overflowing with happiness!
