Family Portrait Time for the Dixons!

Danielle was soooo enthusiastic about portraits of her family that Tony and I totally could not wait to capture them! And what a great family they are! There was lots of laughter & kindness, and even hand-holding without complaint (yes, amazing with guys).

Jimmy and Danielle were high school sweethearts! Look at that young love! And look what love can make:

We love you beautiful Dixon family! Please stay in touch so we can continue to celebrate life with you!

Happy Anniversary Mark & Elle

And they lived happily ever after…

Well, they are celebrating a great beginning  — especially this month with a birthday, the purchase of their first home, and their first anniversary! Elle and Mark are uplifting to be around and we were excited to capture their first anniversary session!

It was delightful reflecting on their wedding day and catching up with what has happened in their lives since then. Elle brought along their wedding album for a few poses – I loved hearing that she enjoys it often 🙂We ended the session at their new home. Its just the perfect place for making memories and growing their family!

Thanks Elle & Mark for sharing your ongoing love story! We wish for you abundantly more than you could even hope for or imagine!!

Delightful Sarah Grace

Among the awesome 2012 graduates we photographed, there is one that comes to mind today, and that is Sarah Grace. We barely got her session in before she actually received her diploma, but I am so glad we did. After first meeting her mom and hearing about this amazing daughter, I knew how lucky I would be to meet her and to capture her senior portraits. Here are a few of my favorites…

Sarah Grace brought some of her favorite senior items, including a Harry Potter wand made by a friend, those ‘slightly-worn’ Toms and her own camera. I actually liked her cap and gown pose with those Harry Potter glasses best 🙂

I love the connection she shares with her mom. And we were moved by their story of not only surviving a serious car accident just days before the session, but enduring the last few years of high school following the loss of her father. Sarah Grace shared her sentimental side as we photographed her stuffed monkey, a cuddly companion through the years, and a treasure box housing a priceless silver locket and her dad’s watch.

Sarah Grace  – you are beautiful! Congratulations on your graduation achievement and for overcoming the obstacles along the way. We wish for you a journey of joy as you head to college!

Makeup Artist Mary Beth

Mary Beth is a dear friend, an artist, and such a natural beauty!

We first met on a music video set – she was providing makeup for the vocal artist and Tony & I were shooting behind the scenes stills. It was a long, seriously long, day and Mary Beth was friendly & fun & professional (and kept the vocalist glowing). So I knew she would be a great treasure for my clients wanting professional, camera-ready makeup for their session. Plus Mary Beth loves photography — her experience behind the camera and eye for beauty truly benefit each session.

After having Mary Beth work alongside me in several Love It Out Beauty Reveals, I wanted the opportunity to capture her. Although she was a little nervous at first being in front of the camera, she quickly relaxed and just had fun. She even brought props! (which I love – it adds a personal touch)

From classy looks to laughter – she was awesome to photograph!

Thanks Mary Beth for just being the wonderful artist that you are! I look forward to our future sessions revealing radiance & beauty in the women we are blessed to work with together!!

THANKS for sharing your smiles!

We had a wonderful day at the studio yesterday capturing smiles – thanks to all who participated in support of the work of Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. For our Celebration of Smiles event we raised the amount needed for a surgery to save one smile  🙂

Here are a few smiles from yesterday! Lots of love!

We look forward to doing this again! Maybe I will be able to show you images from a precious child with a changed life if Tony & I get to go on an Operation Smile trip one day!
