Photos in the garden with Nora

What a pretty dress! She loved wearing her colorful dress. Wendy shared that the day after the photo shoot, Nora refused to wear her jeans, she wanted a “dress”. They did a great job coordinating their outfits.

What proud parents! And totally talented too. Wendy is a wonderful friend and gifted artist. We have enjoyed photographing weddings together for over fours years. Nate is a brilliant engineer and musician and actually gave my son Justin drum lessons years ago. I’m sure little Nora will do wonderful things and it’s a blessing to get to photograph her as she grows!

Thanks for sharing heart-melting moments with us!

YOUR life is beautiful when you love it out!

Jacob is so generous!

What happens when parents pick up the birthday cake a day early? And what if it is an especially delicious cake from Peggy Ann’s Bakery (the best)? Well at first they just sneak some of the frosting from the back of the cake. Maybe no one will notice. Then they try to get their son to come over right away, no need to wait until tomorrow. Then, even if he doesn’t make it over, they just eat it. Yes they do.

This pic make me smile. To be honest we did not eat all of that missing part the day before, but we did present Jacob with an already sliced birthday cake. And he didn’t mind. He was glad it made us happy. Jacob is generous and kind in so many areas. We are so proud of the man he has become and the joy he brings into the room whenever he is around. He’s fun and funny and precious – one of our dearest treasures 🙂

Who ate my birthday cake?

Happy birthday wonderful son! We love you to the moon and back (with lots of cake on the way)!

Caleb | Class of 2012

One of the nicest guys around – that’s Caleb. We love spending time with the Clemons family and Caleb was great to photograph. Love those eyes!

His session included some backyard poses and a trip to the North Alabama Railroad Museum (http://www.northalabamarailroadmuseum.com).

And of course the session wouldn’t be complete without a hug for his momma and a few poses in his orange and blue selections!

Enjoy your senior year Caleb! You are awesome!

Cowgirls Have Curls

For a current project (with a western theme) we needed a little model in cowgirl boots. I immediately thought of Katie and called her mom to see if she had western boots and might be interested. I was thrilled when she said that Katie would love to and that she had been wanting some boots. After capturing family pictures for them last year I have been ‘patiently’ waiting for all opportunities to capture Katie again 🙂

So Katie and her mom (and grandmom too) had a little shopping trip to a place in Athens with great western goodies and prepared for the shoot. And as I expected, Katie did some wonderful modeling! She is a natural — 5 going on 16 I think —  with the most wonderful smile and golden curls. And she’s a little sassy too!

Great outfit! Great kiddo! Great shoot (followed by Duncan Hines Peanut Butter brownies — Tony & I are totally addicted to them).
Thanks Katie-bug, we love you!

Behind the Scenes | Music Video Recording

… won’t you stay with me… a little longer…

I woke up with Alona’s song playing in my head. I bet there were probably a few others from the set that did as well – ha! For the capture of a music video to accompany her new single, Alona Raevska along with Smallbox Entertainment Group chose several Huntsville venues.  She teased that by the end of the day and hearing the song so many times that we would be tired of her and her song, but that wasn’t the case. Alona and her song were delightful! The whole crew was just great – the day started with homemade cinnamon rolls (thanks Merrilee) and ended with a Bridge Street boat ride. There were many wonderful moments surrounded with our new talented, creative friends!

The video team led by Paul David was awesome to watch – a hard-working team that seem to flow so well together! Maybe I won’t complain to Tony about lugging around our equipment after watching them!

There for hair and makeup were Jeff Johnson and Mary Beth Elliott of Terrame Day Spa & Salon. Keeping us laughing throughout the day (and into the next) was Jason Crossman, also capturing behind the scenes footage. And the day wouldn’t have been the same without Philip Lucia, Alona’s dreamy love interest in the video. So nice!

The rooftop capture was one of Alona’s favorites. I really liked the atmosphere overlooking downtown Huntsville.

Still singing the song… “a little longer…”
